Chapter Report to State Council
The chapter has struggled more the last 2 1/2 years. One of our local hospital leadership has reached out to me and inquired about a CEN review course. Once we verify, we will start planning to hold the class within 3 months of notification. We are hoping to revive the chapter with some new members showing interest in getting involved.
We will be doing a Stop The Bleed class on April 25th. We are also planning a TNCC class for this year, date to be determined. Our next chapter meeting will be March 10th at 0800 at Panera on Stockdale Hwy. Bakersfield. We have also finalized all other meeting dates for the coming year.
We have our new officers for 2020. President- Agnes Faria Secretary Lindsey Pearson Treasurer/Chapter Rep. Lark Bowyer. Our next meeting will be November 12th at 0800 at Panera on Stockdale. We distributed donuts to both shifts to all Bakersfield area EDs on Emergency Nurses Day.
We held a CEN review and had 7 attendees. Paineze (Gebauer) sponsored one day for us. We also held a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen where we raised $150. We are looking into doing a Board and Brushes event in September as a social mixer and fund raiser combination. We are also looking into doing Stop the Bleed Classes.
Stop the Bleed class was conducted on February 4, 2019. Our 2019 Meeting dates are posted on the CalENA website on our Chapter page. CEN review is scheduled for April 27 and 28, 2019. Discussed fund raising events for the chapter (boards and brushes) for this years, no dates and venues as of yet.
No chapter activity at this time. Planning for a January meeting. Will be sending a notice out for that meeting. Also need ideas and input from our members.
Snake bite season is upon us. We are sponsoring a class along with CroFab on June 1st at at Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley Hospital from 1100-1300. Lunch included. We will also be having a chapter meeting then and explaining about ENA and all the benefits being a member brings. Hope to increase our membership/participation.
We had a successful ENPC class and have a possible 4-5 participants that have qualified for instructor. We are trying to do an instructor class just for these people on May 5th. Also we will be having a luncheon meeting sponsored by Crofab on June 1st in Tehachapi on snake bites.
